Boarding (Agisting)

If you would like to start an alpaca herd, and don’t have a facility of your own, we are set up to board your animals either temporarily or indefinitely. Our unique facilities are among shade trees and huge boulders, with plenty of barn structures to protect from the sun, rain, and wind. During hot weather, the alpacas love to congregate under overhead misters, and also look forward to occasional tummy sprays with a hose. They have lots of room to run, play and socialize within a safe environment.  They are treated like our own animals, with affection and caring—even including daily carrots or apple treats. Their owners can come to visit them at any time—perhaps take them for walks around the property.

One of our agisting clients is a family (husband, wife, and teen-age boy) from the city. They never intend to obtain a farm or ranch, but are building-up a herd as a college fund for the boy. They really have the best of all situations, because they receive the pay-offs from their investments, and as well as the tax advantages.   It is good exposure to “farm life” for the boy, who has a strong voice in making purchase, sales, and breeding decisions. He enjoys visiting his animals, taking photos, teaching them to halter and lead, and even helping to clean up the “poop” (experiences all of his friends are missing).

We have a local veterinarian who specializes in camelids.  She lives nearby, and is available for emergencies as well as routine care. She is very conscientious, and keeps us up to date regarding any new concerns.

Be sure to check us out before you decide where to agist your animals. Our rates are very reasonable.  Your animals can stay as long as they wish, and we will adjust your daily or monthly rate accordingly. And don’t forget, they will be cared for and treated like one of the family.
